Turkish Lamb Pizza

This recipe is the gift that just keeps on giving.

I love to cook but I’m also one of these people that jumps from trend to trend, has a new flavour of the month every week and is captivated by anything shiny and new. Yet, this recipe has stood the test of time for me since Kathy first shared it a few years ago. If I feel like something healthy yet totally delicious this is the dish I whip it. It’s quick and easy and uses just a few ingredients. And if I have a crowd to feed or someone to impress - this is also my go-to.

Quick story. My partner, Matt, loves a Friday home-made pizza night. But ever since we’ve been together, pizza night takes on the traditional DIY toppings, build-your-own format. And that’s exactly how he likes it. His family also love a good ‘ole ‘everybody in the kitchen to make your own pizza’ Friday night dinner.

I decided to test the recipe on Matt first. Long story short, halfway through making the mince mix, he suggested he might “nip down to the shops to grab some further toppings as we clearly don’t have enough” - code for ‘I’m not quite sure about this… where’s the cheese and the pizza sauce!'‘

I needn’t have worried (not that I was, having tasted the pizzas dozens of times mind you), one bite and he was sold. Claiming it was possibly the best homemade pizza he’d ever had. He took a snap to send to his family and that was the beginning… Fast forward, I’ve successfully cooked my first meal for his family and the recipe has been passed on to everyone there.

This is one of many experiences of cooking the recipe for those in my fold, one bite = a request for the recipe and hence the chain continues.
